Description

Agout 40 mg 30 Tablets contains Febuxostat, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used for the long-term treatment of chronic gout (gouty arthritis) in patients with elevated uric acid levels. It works by reducing the production of uric acid, helping prevent gout attacks and the formation of uric acid crystals in the joints. Active Ingredients: Febuxostat 40 mg Indications: Chronic management of gout (gouty arthritis) Treatment of hyperuricemia (high blood uric acid levels) associated with gout Prevention of urate crystal deposition and tophi formation Reduction of recurrent gout attacks after achieving target uric acid levels Dosage: Usually 1 tablet (40 mg) once daily or as directed by the physician Can be taken with or without food Swallow the tablet whole with water The dose may be increased to 80 mg daily if the target uric acid level is not achieved Do not discontinue treatment during a gout flare unless instructed by your physician Contraindications & Warnings: Hypersensitivity to febuxostat or any component of the product Do not use with Azathioprine, Mercaptopurine, or Theophylline Use cautiously in patients with heart disease, liver disease, or kidney impairment Gout attacks may increase temporarily after starting treatment; this does not usually require stopping the medication Regular monitoring of liver function and serum uric acid is recommended Side Effects: Nausea Joint pain Skin rash Elevated liver enzymes Headache Diarrhea Rarely: severe allergic skin reactions or liver disorders Storage: Store below 25–30°C Keep in the original package Protect from moisture and light Keep out of reach of children Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly needed Not recommended during breastfeeding due to insufficient safety data Consult a physician before use
