Amydramine - II is a medicine used to help relieve cough. Amydramine - II contains diphenhydramine, which is an antihistamine that helps relieve cough and reduces secretions from the nose and chest. This medicine is used by adults and children 6 years of age and older. How to use You should always take Amydramine - II exactly as your doctor has told you. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure how to take this medicine. This medicine should be taken by mouth only. The recommended doses mentioned below should not be exceeded. Adults and children 12 years of age and older: 2 - 4 teaspoons (25 to 50 mg), every 4-6 hours. Children aged 6 to under 12 years 1 - 2 teaspoons (12.5 to 25 mg), every 4-6 hours. note : This medicine should not be taken more than 6 times within 24 hours. This medicine should not be given to children under 6 years of age. If you take more Amydramine- II than you should Please consult your doctor or go to the accident and emergency department of the nearest hospital if anyone takes this medicine in a dose larger than the recommended one. You should also take this medicine leaflet and the medicine package with you. If you miss a dose of Amedramine -II Please take the doses of this medicine carefully as recommended above. If you forget to take a dose, you should take the next dose as soon as it is needed. You should not take a double dose. Warnings and precautions Stop taking the medicine immediately and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you experience allergic reactions such as shortness of breath, rash, swelling of the face or neck, low blood pressure and dizziness. Talk to your doctor before starting this medication if you have any of the following health problems: asthma or other chronic respiratory problems, glaucoma (increased eye pressure), benign prostatic hyperplasia, difficulty urinating, or liver problems. Taking alcohol with this medication may increase side effects such as drowsiness and dizziness, so be sure to avoid drinking alcohol with this medication. Side Effects Like all medicines, Amydramine - II can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Please stop taking this medicine and seek help immediately if you experience any of the following: Swelling of the face, lips and/or tongue Allergic reactions including skin rash (which may be severe and include skin blistering or peeling) and itching Cramps or numbness (tingling or tingling sensation) Please stop taking this medicine and talk to your doctor if you experience any of the following: Excessive heartbeat (palpitations) Vibration Difficulty urinating Other possible side effects include: Drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision Dry mouth, nose and throat Stomach upset Storage Information The medicine should be kept out of the reach and sight of children. Do not take Amedramine - II after the expiry date which is stated on the outer packaging and the inner label of the bottle. Store at a temperature below 30°C. After opening the package, use the syrup within one month. Amidramine - II should not be taken if there are obvious signs of damage. Drug Interactions If you have taken an MAO inhibitor within the past 2 weeks Ingredients Diphenhydramine hydrochloride, sodium citrate, menthol, sodium saccharin, citric acid monohydrate, sodium benzoate, lysine 80/55, propylene glycol, raspberry flavour and purified water.
