Dicetel 50 mg tablets belongs to a group of medicines called “musculotropic antispasmodic” Dicetel 50 mg tablets is indicated in: Symptomatic treatment of pain, transit disorders and intestinal discomfort relating to functional intestinal disorders Symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disturbances of the biliary tract Preparation for a barium enema How to use You must take this medicine strictly as directed due to the risk of oesophageal irritation: Always take the tablets with food, Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, suck or chew them, Do not take the tablets when lying down or just before going to bed. You should also: Take your tablets at regular intervals throughout the day, Try to take your tablets at approximately the same time every day. This will help you tremember to take them. How much to take The dosage is 3 to 4 tablets per day. This dosage can be increased to 6 tablets per day in exceptional circumstances. Information for doctors: In preparation for a barium enema, the dosage is 4 tablets per day, for the 3 days before the examination. Use in children This medicinal product is not recommended for children. Side Effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following side effects may happen with this medicine: Problems with your oesophagus, stomach or intestine such as swallowing difficulties, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting, risk of damaging your oesophagus if you do not take this medication as directed Skin problems such as redness, skin rash, itching or urticaria, Allergic reactions (hypersensitivity) to the medicinal product such as breathing difficulties, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat (oedema). Stop taking DICETEL and seek medical advice immediately if you experience any of the side effects. You may require urgent medical treatment. Storage Information Store below 30C º. Shelf Life: 3 years Drug Interactions Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or have recently used other medicines including medicines obtained without prescription. In particular, inform your doctor if you are taking other medicinal products to relieve spasms in your intestine or bile ducts (medication known as "anticholinergics"). DICETEL may increase their antispasm effect. Ingredients The active substances are 50 mg Pinaverium bromide.
