Description

Duspatalin Retard 200 mg contains the active substance mebeverine hydrochloride which belongs to a group of medicines called antispasmodics, which affect the intestines. The intestines are a long muscular tube through which food passes down so that it can be digested and excreted. In cases of contraction of the intestines, spasms occur and pressure occurs strongly and tightly, causing pain. This medicine works to relieve spasms and pain. Duspatalin Retard 200 mg is used for the following conditions: Adults and children over 10 years of age. Symptomatic treatment of abdominal pain and cramps, intestinal disturbances and discomfort related to irritable bowel syndrome. Treatment of gastro-intestinal spasms resulting from organic diseases. How to use Try taking the tablet 20 minutes before a meal - some people find their symptoms are stronger after eating. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water. The tablet should not be chewed. Adults (including the elderly): The usual dosage is one tablet three times a day. Do not take more than three tablets a day. The number of tablets you take may be reduced if your symptoms improve. Children and adolescents: Mebeverine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Warnings and precautions Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Mebeverine if: You develop new symptoms or your symptoms get worse. You have liver or kidney problems. Drug Interactions Mebeverine is not known to interact with other medicines but you should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
