Gaviscon Mint Flavour Syrup 200ml Antacid for effective relief from heartburn, acid reflux and acidity. Gaviscon antacid syrup is used to treat symptoms caused by acid reflux into the oesophagus (gastroesophageal reflux disease), such as heartburn and indigestion, for example after meals or during pregnancy, and for symptoms of excess stomach acid (hyperacidity). Gaviscon Acid Syrup may also be used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease during concomitant treatment with or after withdrawal of acid suppressant therapy. Indigestion, which is pain in your upper intestine that can feel like gas or bloating Gastric or duodenal ulcer, which is an ulcer that affects the lining of the stomach, small intestine, or esophagus. How to use Shake the package well before use to ensure that the product is properly mixed. Children from 6 to 12 years: 5 ml once or twice daily after meals and at bedtime. Adults and children over 12 years: 5 ml up to four times daily after meals and at bedtime. Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist. If you take more than you should, talk to your doctor or go to the hospital immediately. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose. Warnings and precautions Gaviscon antacid contains a high content of sodium. This should be taken into account in particular for those on a low-salt diet (e.g. in some cases of congestive heart failure and kidney impairment). Use caution if you have impaired kidney function or if you are on a potassium-restricted diet. Caution should be exercised if you have hypercalcemia, renal calcification and recurrent calcium containing kidney stones. Taking this product may mask symptoms of other, more serious underlying medical conditions. Contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216) which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed). Have diabetes. Side Effects Red, bumpy skin rash, swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, mouth or tongue, itching and difficulty breathing or swallowing. This could be an allergic reaction. Storage Information Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use Gaviscon Indigestion Syrup after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and bottle. Discard any remaining medication after 6 months of opening the bottle. Store below 25°C. Medicines must not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Drug Interactions Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. A 2-hour interval should be observed between taking this product and taking other medicinal products, especially: H2 antihistamines (cimetidine, famotidine, nizatidine and ranitidine) Tetracycline (doxycycline, minocycline) Digoxin Fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin) Iron salts Thyroid hormones (levothyroxine) Ketoconazole Beta blockers (atenolol, metoprolol, propranolol) penicillamine Tetracyclines (eg, doxycycline) Ingredients Sodium Alginate - Sodium Bicarbonate - Calcium Carbonate Specifications Product consistency: Suspended
