Hairgrow® is a medicine used to treat common hereditary hair loss in adults aged 65-18 years, by preventing further hair loss and helping hair re-growth. It contains minoxidil which is thought to work by aiding the blood flow to the hair follicles on your scalp. The medicine is for use in adults aged between 18 and 65 years. Hairgrow® works best in adults who have general hair thinning of the scalp. Those who are younger or have been losing hair for a short period of time are likely to experience the best results. You are unlikely to benefit from Hairgrow® if you have been balding/thinning for many years or have a large area of hair loss. Hereditary hair loss is recognisable because: Of the pattern of hair loss. It starts gradually and progresses. You have a family history of hair loss. No other symptoms are present with your hair loss. How to use Hairgro is for topical and external use only. It should only be used directly on the scalp area. Avoid inhaling the spray when applying the solution to the scalp. Do not use the solution on areas of the body other than the scalp. Wash hands well before and after using the solution and wash other areas that have come into contact with the solution. Make sure to dry your hair and scalp well before using the solution. The device is designed to accurately dispense a 1 ml dose when used as directed. Adults aged 18 to 65 years After drying the hair and scalp well, apply 1 ml to the entire affected area of the scalp twice daily. The solution should be gently massaged into the scalp after application. Allow at least 12 hours between each use. Do not exceed 2 ml per day. Do not use the solution more than twice a day. Warnings and precautions Talk to your doctor or pharmacist: If you are not completely sure about the health and safety of your scalp. If you suffer from heart disease, including disturbances in heart rhythm or heart rate, angina or chest pain and/or circulatory disorders. If any of these points apply to you now or have applied in the past, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Side Effects If any of the following occur to you, stop using the medicine and talk to your doctor: Allergic reactions including facial swelling, skin redness, itching or tightness in the throat. Low blood pressure. Increased heart rate or sensation of heartbeats (palpitations). Fainting or dizziness. Swelling of the hands or feet, and shortness of breath. Sudden and unexplained weight gain. Persistent localized redness or rash. Other side effects that may occur include: Very common Headache Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people) Itching, skin inflammation or excessive hair growth Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people) Eye irritation. Vomiting or nausea. Storage Information Store away from light. Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. The content is valid for 25 days, it is expected that the content will be fully consumed during this period. Do not expose the medicine to freezing. Keep the medicine tightly closed. Drug Interactions Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or using any other medicines including: Some blood pressure medications are called "vasodilators" for example: hydralazine. There is a potential risk of interaction between minoxidil, the active ingredient in Hairgro, with these medications and increasing their effect.
