Description

Locoid cream helps alleviate skin sensitivity. It contains hydrocortisone, which belongs to topical corticosteroids and is characterized by its ability to reduce inflammation, itching, and redness of the skin. Hydrocortisone works by inhibiting the protein required in inflammation. Medications containing hydrocortisone are used in dermatology to treat itching, swelling, and irritation of the skin. Topical corticosteroid medications are available only by prescription. Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid used topically to treat a variety of skin conditions including types of eczema, dermatitis (itch), allergic dermatitis (inflammation caused by skin irritants and allergens), and psoriasis. How to use: Always use this medication exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has instructed. The dosage may vary from one patient to another based on your age, medical condition, and whether you are taking other medications. Apply a thin layer of the cream/ointment and gently massage it into the affected area as directed by your doctor. This medication is not recommended for children unless advised by your doctor. Wash and dry your hands before and after using the cream/ointment (do not wash your hands after using it on the skin of your hands). Ensure that the cream/ointment stays away from your eyes. Do not use this cream/ointment on your face unless directed by your doctor. Do not apply this cream/ointment to the genital area unless directed by your doctor. Make sure to close the cap of the tube after using the cream/ointment to prevent the medication from leaking or becoming contaminated. Dosages may change under special circumstances, so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions. If you take more medication than you should, talk to your doctor or go to the hospital immediately. Warnings and precautions: Stop using the medication immediately and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any allergies or skin reactions to any of the ingredients in this cream/ointment, such as skin itching, redness, difficulty breathing, rashes, or swelling of the face or neck. This medication is intended for external use only. Do not swallow this product. Avoid contact of the cream/ointment with your lips, eyes, mouth, and sensitive areas of the neck and corners of the nose to prevent irritation. In case of accidental contact, be sure to rinse the area well with warm water and let it dry. Talk to your doctor immediately if you or your child experience any vision problems (such as blurred vision). Consult your doctor before starting this medication if you have allergies to any drugs, dyes, foods, or other preservatives, or if you have any other health issues (especially if you have an infection). Talk to your doctor if your skin condition worsens or becomes inflamed or if it does not improve. Do not use this medication for a prolonged period on large areas to prevent excessive absorption and the resulting unwanted side effects. Storage information: Keep the product out of the reach of children. Do not store at temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius. Side effects: Although the following side effects are not common to everyone, some patients may experience: itching, dry skin, redness of the skin.
