Lorinex contains desloratadine, which is an antihistamine. Lorinex is an antihistamine that does not make you sleepy. It helps control allergic reactions and their symptoms. How to use Use in children Children from 1 year to 5 years old: The recommended dose is 2.5 ml (1/2 of a full 5 ml teaspoon) of the oral solution once daily. Children from 6 years old to 11 years old: The recommended dose is 5 ml (one full 5 ml teaspoon) of the oral solution once daily. Use in adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older The recommended dose is 10 ml (two full 5 ml spoonfuls) of the oral solution once daily. If an oral measuring syringe is provided with the oral solution vial, you can use it as an alternative to administer the appropriate amounts of oral solution. This medication is taken by mouth. Swallow the oral solution and then drink some water. You may take this medicine with or without food. Warnings and precautions Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking Lorinex: If you have poor kidney function. If you or a family member has had seizures in the past. Children and adolescents Do not give this medicine to children younger than 1 year of age. Side Effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines. Lorinex with food, drink and alcohol Lorinex can be taken with or without a meal. Use caution when taking Lorinex with alcohol.
