Description

The powder is a lemon-flavored laxative containing four sachets. There are two large sachets ("Sachet A") and two small sachets ("Sachet B"). You only need these for one treatment. It is intended for adults to cleanse their bowels before the exam. It works by emptying the contents of your bowel, so you should expect to have watery bowel movements. How to use This package contains two transparent bags, each containing one pair of sachets: bag A and bag B. Each pair of sachets (A and B) must be dissolved in water to obtain a one-liter solution. So this package is enough to make two liters of this powder for oral solution. When to take this powder For procedures performed while asleep (using general anesthesia): Divided doses: One liter of this powder orally the evening before, and one liter of this powder early in the morning on the day of the examination. One dose: Two liters of this powder in the evening before the examination or two liters of this powder in the morning of the examination. For procedures performed without the need for sleep (without the use of general anesthesia): Divided doses: One liter of this powder the evening before and one liter of this powder early in the morning of the examination day. Make sure to consume this powder as well as any other clear liquids at least one hour before the test begins. One dose: Two liters of this powder in the evening before the examination or two liters of this powder in the morning of the examination. Ensure that you finish consuming this powder at least two hours before starting the examination. Make sure you finish drinking any clear liquids at least one hour before the exam. Do not take any solid food from the time you start taking this powder until after the examination. How to prepare this powder: Open a clear bag and remove bags A and B. Add the contents of Sachets A and B to a 1-liter measuring jug. Add water to make up the 1-liter mark of the container and stir until all the powder is dissolved. This may take up to 5 minutes. How to drink this powder: Drink the first liter of this powder over the course of one to two hours. Try to drink a cup every 10-15 minutes. When ready, make and drink the second liter of this solution made from the contents of sachets A and B from the remaining sachet. During the treatment period, it is recommended to drink an additional liter of clear fluid to prevent you from feeling excessively thirsty and becoming dehydrated. Water, clear soup, fruit juice, soft drinks, tea or coffee (without milk) are all suitable. Warnings and precautions Do not take this powder: If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. If you have a blockage in your intestines (gastrointestinal tract) If you have a perforated bowel wall If you have a stomach emptying disorder If you suffer from paralysis of the digestive tract If you have phenylketonuria. If your body is unable to produce enough glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase If you have toxic megacolon Warnings and precautions: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this powder if you have any of the following: Thick liquids are needed to be swallowed safely. Tendency to regurgitate swallowed drinks, food, or acid from the stomach. Kidney disease. Heart failure or heart disease including high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, or heart palpitations. Thyroid disease Acute flare of inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis). Side Effects Possible side effects: It is normal to experience diarrhea when taking this powder. Other side effects include: Abdominal pain, bloating, fatigue, general feeling of illness, anal pain, nausea and fever. Hunger, sleep problems, dizziness, headache, vomiting, indigestion, thirst, and chills. Storage Information Store this powder for oral solution sachets at room temperature (below 25°C). After dissolving in water, the solution can be stored (keeping it covered) at room temperature (below 25°C). It can also be stored in a refrigerator (2°C-8°C). Do not keep it for more than 24 hours. Drug Interactions If you are taking other medications, take them at least one hour before or at least one hour after taking this powder because they may flow through your digestive system and not work as well.
