Description

Moxal suspension contains   two different medicines, known as dry aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide, both of which belong to a group of medicines known as antacids.   Moxal suspension is used to treat the following conditions: Heartburn or when the stomach secretes too much acid (indigestion) Gastritis It is also used with a prescription from the treating physician to reduce the increase in acid in the stomach or digestive tract (intestines) when suffering from ulcers. Moxal works by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach. How to use Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Please consult your doctor if you are not sure how to take this medicine. How to take this medicine Shake the bottle well before use. This medicine is taken orally. If necessary, Moxal suspension can be taken with water or milk. The best time to take Moxal is when symptoms appear or are expected to occur, usually after meals and before bedtime. For adults and children over 12 years: Take 2 teaspoons (10 ml) or 1 sachet 20-60 minutes after a meal and another dose before bedtime, or as needed by the patient or as directed by the treating physician. Cut the sachet open as directed, then empty the contents of the sachet directly into your mouth and swallow.   Warnings and precautions Do not take this product if you know you are allergic to any of the ingredients because difficulty breathing and skin rash may rarely occur. Side Effects Like all medicines, Moxal can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Please stop taking Moxal and consult your doctor or go to the hospital immediately if you experience any of the following: Not known (the frequency of side effects cannot be estimated from the available data) Red, bumpy skin rash, swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, mouth or tongue, itching, difficulty breathing or swallowing. These side effects could be signs of an allergic reaction. Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if the following side effects get serious or last longer than a few days. Also tell your doctor if you notice any side effects not listed in the leaflet: Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people) Holding Diarrhea Storage Information Keep out of reach and sight of children. Moxal should not be taken after the expiry date stated on the package and the inner label of the bottle. Store the medicine at a temperature below 30°C. After opening the package, use within one month. You should not take Moxal if you notice any obvious signs of damage. Drug Interactions Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines. This includes medicines obtained without a prescription and herbal medicines. You should not take Moxal at the same time as other medicines. This is because Moxal may affect how other medicines work. In particular, Moxal may affect the following medications: Some medications used to treat infections, such as tetracycline, ciprofloxacin, rifampicin, and ketoconazole. Drugs used to treat malaria, such as chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine. Chlorpromazine - a medicine used to treat mental illness (psychosis). Vitamins.
