Panadol 500 mg film-coated tablets are used to treat headache, migraine, muscle pain, dysmenorrhea, sore throat, musculoskeletal pain, fever, pain associated with vaccination/immunization against infection, pain following dental surgery/tooth extraction, toothache, earache, respiratory infections including colds and flu, and arthritis pain. How to use For oral use only. Do not exceed the prescribed dose. Use the lowest dose needed to treat your symptoms and use the medicine for the shortest time necessary. Do not take it more often than every 4 hours. Adults (including the elderly) and children aged 16 years and over: Take one or two tablets every 4 to 6 hours Children aged 10 to 15 years Give one tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed Children under 10 years: Do not give this medicine to children under 10 years for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor. Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours. Do not take a larger dose than recommended, this may cause serious damage to the liver. Seek medical advice from your doctor immediately even if you do not have any symptoms, because of the risk of liver failure. Warnings and precautions Do not take Panadol 500mg Film-coated Tablets If you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients of the product. If you are taking other prescription or non-prescription medicines that contain paracetamol to treat pain, fever, cold and flu symptoms or to help you sleep. Take special care with Panadol 500mg Film-coated Tablets Consult your doctor before use if: If you have liver or kidney problems. If you are underweight or malnourished. If you regularly drink alcohol. Side Effects Stop taking this medicine and tell your doctor immediately if: You experience an allergic reaction such as a rash or itching, sometimes accompanied by breathing problems or swelling of the lips, tongue, throat or face. You experience a rash, peeling skin or mouth ulcers. If you have had breathing problems with aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and have had a similar reaction to this product. If you experience unexplained bruising or bleeding. These reactions are rare. Storage Information Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Store below 30°C. Do not use Panadol 500 mg Film-coated Tablets after the expiry date. Drug Interactions Before taking this medicine, make sure you talk to your doctor if you are taking warfarin or a similar blood-thinning medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking these tablets if you are taking any other prescribed medicines, especially metoclopramide and domperidone (to treat nausea [feeling sick] or vomiting [being sick]), colestyramine (to lower cholesterol levels in the blood). If you are taking blood-thinning medicines (anticoagulants, for example warfarin) and need to take a painkiller every day, talk to your doctor as you may be at risk of bleeding.
