Panadol Advance 500mg tablets are absorbed faster than regular paracetamol tablets. They are suitable for the relief of headaches, tension headaches, migraines, backache, rheumatism, muscular pain, toothache and period pain. They also relieve sore throat, fever and pain associated with colds and flu and are recommended for the relief of pain caused by mild arthritis. The active ingredient is paracetamol which is a pain reliever and also reduces your temperature when you have a fever. How to use Adults (including the elderly) and children aged 16 years and over: Swallow one or two tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours. Children aged 10 to 15 years: Take one tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 4 tablets in 24 hours. Do not take the medicine for more than 3 days at a time unless your doctor tells you to. Do not take it more often than every 4 hours. Do not take more than the recommended dose. Do not allow children under 10 years to take the medicine If you take too many tablets Talk to your doctor straight away if you take too many tablets of this medicine, even if you feel well. This is because taking too much paracetamol can cause serious, late liver damage. Warnings and precautions Do not take Panadol Advance 500mg if: You have had an allergic reaction to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients (listed in section 6) You are taking any other medicines, prescription or non-prescription, that contain paracetamol for pain, fever, cold and flu symptoms or to help you sleep. Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine: If you have mild arthritis and need to take painkillers every day If you have liver or kidney problems If you are underweight or malnourished If you regularly drink alcohol Side Effects Stop taking the medicine and tell your doctor right away if you experience: Allergic reactions that may be severe such as rash and itching, sometimes with swelling of the mouth or face, or shortness of breath Rash, peeling, or mouth sores Breathing problems. These side effects are more likely to occur if you have had them in the past with other painkillers such as ibuprofen and aspirin Unexplained bruising or bleeding Nausea, sudden weight loss, loss of appetite, and yellowing of the eyes and skin. Storage Information Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package. Store below 30°C Drug Interactions Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking these tablets if you are taking any prescribed medicines, particularly metoclopramide or domperidone (to treat nausea [feeling sick] or vomiting [being sick]) or cholestyramine (to lower the level of cholesterol in the blood). If you are taking blood-thinning medicines (anticoagulants, for example warfarin) and need to take a painkiller every day, talk to your doctor as you may be at risk of bleeding. However, you can still take occasional doses of Panadol Advance 500mg with anticoagulants. Ingredients Paracetamol.
