Paraxon capsules contain Chlorzoxazone and Paracetamol, where Chlorzoxazone is a substance that acts centrally in cases of musculoskeletal pain and Paracetamol works by inhibiting the formation of prostaglandins in the central nervous system and peripherally by blocking the generator of pain impulses. Paraxone is used as an adjunct to rest, physical therapy and other measures to relieve discomfort associated with acute musculoskeletal conditions. Such conditions may include skeletal muscle spasm and pain associated with sprains, strains and other painful muscle injuries; myalgia; arthritis; low back pain; tension headache; torticollis; fibromyalgia; spondylitis; cervical and disc radicular syndromes. How to use Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. The usual adult dose (12 years and over) is two capsules of Paraxone four times daily. Warnings and precautions Use with caution if: You have serious kidney or liver disease. I was an alcoholic. Allergy Rarely, allergic skin rash, blisters, or bruising may occur during treatment. Angioedema or anaphylactic reaction is very rare. Renal toxicity There is no evidence that this drug will cause kidney damage. The patient may notice a discoloration of the urine resulting from the phenol metabolite of chlorzoxazone, rarely. This finding has no known clinical significance. Hepatotoxicity Serious and fatal hepatotoxicity has been reported rarely in patients receiving chlorzoxazone. The mechanism is unknown, but appears to be characteristic and unpredictable. Factors that predispose patients to this rare event are unknown.
