Premosan tablets contain the active ingredient metoclopramide hydrochloride which belongs to a group of medicines known as antiemetics. Primosan works on a part of the brain that prevents feeling sick (nausea) or feeling unwell (vomiting). Metoclopramide increases muscle contractions in the upper gastrointestinal tract. This speeds up the rate at which the stomach empties into the intestines. How to use Always take Premosan exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. The recommended single dose is 10 mg, taken up to 3 times daily. The maximum recommended daily dose is 30 mg or 0.5 mg/kg body weight. The maximum recommended treatment duration is 5 days. Warnings and precautions Treatment with this medicine can cause tardive dyskinesia, a serious and often irreversible movement disorder. The risk of tardive dyskinesia increases with duration of treatment and total cumulative dose. This medication should be discontinued in patients who develop signs/symptoms of tardive dyskinesia.
