Razon contains the active ingredient pantoprazole. Razon is a selective proton pump inhibitor, a medicine that works by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is used to treat diseases related to stomach acid and intestines. How to use • Take this medicine as recommended in this leaflet or as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist. • Make sure to take this medicine for at least 2 to 3 consecutive days. Warnings and precautions • Have had an allergic reaction to this medicine or have had an allergic reaction to medicines similar to this medicine. Signs of an allergic reaction include shortness of breath, rash, swelling of the face or neck, low blood pressure, and dizziness. • Have liver problems, jaundice (yellowing of the eyes and skin), anemia, bleeding in the stomach or intestines, unintentional weight loss, difficulty swallowing, persistent vomiting or vomiting blood, and any other medical problem. • Have ever had a stomach ulcer or surgery on your stomach or intestines. • Continuous treatment for symptoms of heartburn or indigestion for 4 weeks or more. • You are over 55 years old. • Consult your doctor if you are going to have an endoscopy or urea breath test before starting the medication. • Do not take this medicine as a preventative for stomach reflux. • Do not take any other heartburn medicine with this medicine • This medicine may increase your risk of stomach or intestinal infections caused by bacteria. Side Effects Common : Stomach polyps. Uncommon: Headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, flatulence (wind), constipation, dry mouth, abdominal pain and discomfort, rash, itching, feeling weak, unwell, sleep disturbances. Rare : Change or complete loss of taste, visual disturbances such as blurred vision, hives, joint pain, muscle pain, weight changes, high body temperature, high fever, swelling of the extremities (peripheral oedema), allergic reactions, depression, enlargement of the breast in males. Storage Information Keep out of reach of children Do not store above 30°C, keep away from moisture. Do not use Razon after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and blister Drug Interactions It is used under the supervision of a doctor if you are taking any of the following medications: Rilpivirine. HIV medications such as atazanavir. Warfarin. Methotrexate. Ingredients The active ingredient is pantoprazole.
