Levitra contains vardenafil, which belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. It is used to treat erectile dysfunction in adult men, a condition involving difficulty getting or maintaining an erection. At least one in ten men has trouble getting or keeping an erection at some point. This may be due to physical or psychological reasons, or a combination of both. Whatever the cause, insufficient blood flow to the penis (penis) to get and keep an erection is caused by changes in the muscle and blood vessels. Levitra will only work when you are sexually aroused. It reduces the effectiveness of the natural chemical in your body that causes erections to become weak and last. Levitra allows your erection to last long enough for you to have a full, satisfactory sexual activity. How to use Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is 10 mg. Take Levitra approximately 25 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. With sexual stimulation, you can achieve an erection anywhere from 25 minutes to four or five hours after taking Levitra. · Swallow the Levitra tablet with a glass of water. Do not take Levitra film-coated tablets with any other form of Levitra. Do not take Levitra more than once a day. Tell your doctor if you think Levitra is too strong or too weak. Your doctor may suggest switching to an alternative formulation with a different dosage, depending on how Levitra affects you. If you take a larger dose than recommended Men who take too much Levitra may experience more side effects or develop severe lower back pain. If you take more Levitra than recommended, tell your doctor. If you have any further questions on how to take this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Most of these effects are mild or moderate. Patients have experienced a sudden, temporary or permanent partial loss or decrease in vision in one or both eyes. Sudden death, rapid or irregular heartbeat, heart attack, chest pain, and cerebral circulation problems (including temporary decreased blood flow to parts of the brain and bleeding in the brain) have been reported in men taking vardenafil.
