Panadol Night tablets are film-coated tablets that contain: Paracetamol: an analgesic and antipyretic. Diphenhydramine hydrochloride: a sedative antihistamine with sedative and antimuscarinic properties. Panadol Night is used for the temporary, short-term treatment of pain before bedtime, for example, rheumatic and muscular pain, backache, neuralgia, toothache, migraine, headache, and menstrual pain that causes difficulty in sleeping. How to use Is for use at bedtime only. Swallow Panadol Night tablets with water. Adults (including the elderly) and children aged 16 years and over: Take two tablets approximately 20 minutes before bedtime. Do not take more than two tablets in one night. Children aged 12 to 15 years: Take one tablet approximately 20 minutes before bedtime. Do not take more than one tablet in one night. Do not take Panadol Night for more than 7 nights in a row without consulting your doctor. Always use the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time that will relieve your symptoms. When you take Panadol Night at bedtime, you can take other paracetamol tablets during the day but do not take more than 4000mg of paracetamol (including this product) in any 24 hour period and leave at least 4 hours between doses. Warnings and precautions Do not take Panadol Night if: You have an allergic reaction to paracetamol, to diphenhydramine hydrochloride or to any of the other ingredients listed in section 6. With other products that contain paracetamol. If you have a condition called porphyria (too much of a pigment called porphyrin which can change the colour of your urine). If you have glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye). If you have asthma, do not use this medicine during an attack. With other medicines called antihistamines, such as those used on your skin or in cough and cold medicines. If you are elderly and confused. Side Effects Stop using this product and tell your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following: Very rare effects (affect less than 1 in 10,000 people) Unexplained bruising or bleeding. Allergic reactions, such as a rash or itching, sometimes accompanied by trouble breathing or swelling of the lips, tongue, throat, or face. Rash, peeling skin, or swelling or sores in the mouth. Previous breathing problems when using aspirin or NSAIDs and have a similar reaction when using this product. Changes in blood tests that measure liver function. Common (affects between 1 in 10 and 1 in 100 people) Tiredness. Sedation, drowsiness, difficulty concentrating, unsteadiness, dizziness. Dry mouth. Tingling sensation in the skin, difficulty making simple movements, blurred vision, increased heart rate or abnormal heartbeat, phlegm clots, indigestion or stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, muscle tremors, and difficulty urinating. Storage Information Do not store above 30°C. Store in a dry place and in the original package to protect from light and heat. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date (EXP) which is stated on the outer carton and inner packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Check that the adhesive tape on both ends of the pack is intact before use. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Drug Interactions Please see your doctor before taking Panadol Night tablets if: If you are taking metoclopramide or domperidone (drugs used to treat nausea and vomiting), cholestyramine (drugs used to treat high cholesterol), or warfarin (drugs used to thin the blood).
